Canada x Reader: Adieu, My Love

Three weeks.

That's the only time left that you have to live. Three weeks left.

You gulped down a sob as you silently walked home, thoughts rapidly entering your mind. You opened the door and entered your home, your heart pounding heavily.

"(F/N)?", a sweet and quiet voice greeted you. There by the couch sat your sweet and adorable boyfriend, Matthew. Your breath hitched down your throat, you started to think of how you were going to say it to him.

"M-Matthew...", you breathlessly said, your eyesight getting blurry with tears.

"(F/N)?! W-What's wrong?", Matthew asked worriedly, rushing to you. He hugged you tightly. "What did the doctor say, (F/N)?"

With that, you broke down. Uncontrollable tears rolled down your rosy cheeks as sobs escaped your lips. Matthew whispered sweet and soothing words to you, yet they seemed to have no effect.

"Matthew...", you sobbed, clutching into his shirt as he rubbed your back gently. "Three weeks, Matthew..."

"Three weeks?!", he gasped, looking at you in shock. "No, please tell me that isn't true--"

"Just three weeks left, Matthew...", you hiccuped, more warms tears escaping your eyes. He gently wiped your tears away, a deeply worried look on his face. He gently pressed his lips with yours as your lips trembled. Your hands were shakily holding his warm and comforting ones. “Three weeks….”

“(F/N)…”, Matthew pulled away and looked right into your teary (E/C) eyes. “Who knows, the doctor might as well be wrong.”

“But they’re hardly wrong, Matthew…”, you weakly whispered.

“We’ll figure this out together.”, he replied firmly, determination within his eyes showing. You weakly smiled, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you, Matthew.", you mumbled, kissing him lightly on the cheek sleepily.

Days have passed, and your time within the world was quickly running out. You've spent all your time with Matthew, always cherishing the moment, no matter what. Whether you were just lazing around with him in bed, cuddling each other comfily, feeding each other childishly pancakes with maple syrup (specially made by him, of course), every single thing, whether big or small, you cherished it, every single bit.

Then, you had one day left.

Just one single day left. One, very short day.

You woke up with a start. You first checked the calendar, only to know that it was your last day within the world. It made your heart sank, but you acted as if it didn't bother you, just to cherish every single last bit of it.

You looked beside you, only to know that Matthew wasn't there. You did your regular morning routine, as if it wasn't the last day left in your life, and went downstairs, only to see Matthew cooking pancakes for breakfast as always. You greeted Kumajirou with a small smile like every morning, and sat beside him.

Matthew placed your plate and his with a stack of pancakes as he greeted you with a rather small smile.

He knew it was your last day left.

You noticed your pancake was complete with maple syrup and as a special bonus, your favorite fruit topping on top, making you smile. You ate it quietly with him, yet there was this silent layer of awkwardness covering up, unlike the comfortable silence like any other day.

"So, where would you like to go for today?", Matthew asked with a small, sweet smile on his lips. You blinked and thought about it, and remembering your favorite place within the town, you smiled cheerfully.

"Let's go to the lake!", you said, your eyes sparkling with innocence and obliviousness, as if it wasn't your last day within the world. Matthew lightly chuckled at your cheerfulness.

"Let's go, then.", he said sweetly, standing up and collecting the plates. He left the plates in the sink and took your hand, pulling you up. Together, both of you silently went to the sparkling lake, the sun's reflection making it sparkle. Both of you sat on the grass by the edge of the lake comfortably, constantly whispering sweet words to each other and teasing each other like kids. You stayed at the beautiful site up until the sun had started to set, signaling your last moments within the world.

"Matthew...", you softly said, making him look at you, sadness within his eyes covered by his glasses.

"Yes, (F/N)?", he asked, worry lingering in his sweet voice.

"Matthew, whatever you do... Please, remember me, okay?", you whispered, your voice slightly cracking as your eyes started to moisten with tears. "Please, promise me. But, don't get sad for too long, okay?"

"I promise, (F/N).", he said solemnly, his eyes looking right in your (E/C) ones as he gently wiped your tears away. "I'll remember you, always."

You smiled sadly. "Thank you. I love you, Matthew..."

"I love you too, (F/N).", he said, a small, sad yet sweet smile on his lips.

Then, the sky started to turn dark. Like any other day, you went home with Matthew by your side, his warm and comforting hand holding unto yours. After eating dinner, you both went to bed together side by side, the moon light passing by the window as your only light. You pressed your lips on his lovingly one last time as he kissed back. Then, pulling away, with your last breath as your eyes started to droop, your life slipping away, you whispered softly to his ear:

“Adieu, my love.”

With that, he finally broke down, his arms tightly hugging your lifeless body.

----------

Years have passed after your life ended. It was raining, the skies gray, as if the heavens were crying. In front of your dull grave sat a blond man soaked by the rain, his bloodshot eyes covered by foggy glasses. The rain had successfully hid his tears filled with emotion. With a sad smile, he closed his eyes as he remembered the memories he had with you. Tracing the tombstone lightly, he whispered softly, his sweet yet broken voice slightly cracking in emotion, repeating the last phrase you had said to him with your last breath along:

“Adieu, my love. I’ll always remember you.”

Wait, is this still nationverse?
If so, if canada and reader were to have sex, wouldn't that make the reader his capital therefore making her immortal, also counteracting the whatever disease or cancer we had?
